For your information, this Art Nouveau copper coinage is not a 20 cent coin but a token with the same value for purchases at the 1906 International Exhibition in Milan. It shows on the obverse the head of Minerva seen from the front with the minimum of reliefs, with the two statues of art and industry forming a diadem. According to another interpretation, the figure on the obverse is an allegorical representation of the Milan Exposition, while the two statues that form a diadem are the representations of Italian and Swiss industry, joined by the opening of the Sempione Tunnel at that time, shaking hands.

These tokens could be purchased by visitors to the exhibition at a cost of 20 cents each and spent for the same value on purchases within the exhibition. It was to be expected that many visitors, instead of spending the purchased piece, would keep it as a souvenir, to the financial benefit of the committee. However, the token was also designed as a symbol of the national minting industry in the context of an international exhibition.

Alongside the minting of the common copper tokens, 100 numbered gold pieces (ø 27.5 mm - 18.20/18.24 g - rarity R4) were produced, sold at 100 Lire each, and 1000 numbered silver pieces (ø 27.5 mm - 10.85 g - rarity R4), sold at 10 Lire each.

More than this token, I also have another SPL+ gilt one of 1928 Milan Fair. 

Coins are more popular than tokens for most collection.

I have already got almost an entire Vittorio Emanuele III circulation coin set.

These 2-Lire tokens were commissioned from Stabilimento Johnson of Milan by the Organising Committee of the 1928 Milan International Exhibition Fair, dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the victory of the First World War. The Committee wanted to repeat the initiative taken at the 1906 Exhibition by offering visitors the opportunity to have tokens that could be spent and converted into legal tender inside the Fair, as well as to keep them as souvenirs.

As in the case of the 1906 tokens, besides the common issues in gilded bronze, numbered specimens were minted in gold and silver. There is also a bronze-aluminium project proof and an aluminium proof.
