Forgive me if I take advantage of you ...

I'm looking for a photo of a coin, probably from Phocaea, which shows a seal with a fish in its mouth.

The coin is silver (not a small fractional) and I'm sure I've seen it on sale in the last few months. Unfortunately I can't find it on Acsearch.

Could you help me?

I would need to find it because I believe that a similar image is also depicted on an electro fractional just released, whose attribution is uncertain (while I think it can be traced back to Phocaea ...). I'll tell you about it as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Sorry but the translation is not good for me to understand. Do you want to attribute a silver coin that looks like the EL below?

Dear @paparoupa,

in the next RN e-sale 77 there is an electrum 1/96 stater that shows an animal with a fish (?) in its mouth:

https://www.romanumismatics.com/232-lot-422-ionia-uncertain-mint-el-1/96-stater?arr=0&auction_id=0&box_filter=0&cat_id=&department_id=&exclude_keyword=&export_issue=0&gridtype=listview&high_estimate=0&image_filter=0&keyword=Dolphin &list_type=list_view&lots_per_page=100&low_estimate=0&month=&page_no=1&paper_filter=0&search_type=&sort_by=lot_number&view=lot_detail&year=

For me the animal could be a “seal” and not a “dolphin”.

This coin reminds me the famous staters from Phokaia in which a seal have an octopus in its mouth. Here an example: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=121328

Moreover I’m pretty sure to have  recently seen a silver coin from phokaia in which a seal has a fish in its mouth (but I’m not able to find it...).

In conclusion I think that the coin from RN could be from Phokaia too. However there is a problem with its weight: 0,11g it is too low for a 1/96 stater (stater in Phokaic standard is circa 16,60g).

What do you think?

What do you think?

It is difficult to say if this is a seal or a dolphin. If the weight 0.11g is correct then it is a really tiny coin. What you see as a fish in the seal's mouth could be as well a die break... I think this is the coin type with the dolphin they cataloged it after

Thanks a lot @paparoupa. It is very difficult to say what actually is depicted on this coin... Moreover the weight is problematic both for Lido-Milesian and for Phokaic standard (with very tiny coins  it is always difficult to recognize the correct weight standard...).
