Stater äginetischen Fußes, um 400. Pferd nach links springend; Rs: Beamtenname [M]H[TR]ODOTOS um ein Linienquadrat. Im Quadrat Weinstock mit Ranken, Blättern und vier Trauben. Schönert-Geiß, Maroneia 136 ff. Nrn. 154 ff. 12,95g. St. 8. Sehr schön.
 

Der Magistrat Metrodotos ist in Schönert-Geiß' Periode V häufig belegt (zuletzt Nrn. 131 und 132); dem Münzfuß und dem Stil zufolge gehört das vorliegende Stück jedoch bereits der Periode VI an.

Horse prancing left; µ-Å-rW@ and kantharos above / Grape arbor in linear square; EΠI M-HTP-OΔ-OTO around; all within shallow incuse square. Schönert-Geiss 101 (V11/R15); SNG Copenhagen –; SNG Lockett 1191 = Bement 817 (same obv. die); BMC 24 = Traité IV 1448 (same obv. die); Kraay & Hirmer 430 (same dies). VF, toned, light scratches under tone on reverse. Rare early issue.
