Ho lasciato l'espressione originale del diametro e del peso alla terza riga per segnalare un errore che si ripete troppo spesso sul forum e che è buona cosa evitare nella didascalia o nella descrizione delle monete.

In primo luogo bisogna lasciare uno spazio tra il numero e il simbolo dell’unità di misura. Nel caso della lunghezza, qui l’unità è il millimetro (simbolo mm senza punto); nel caso del peso (massa), qui l’unità è il grammo (simbolo g senza punto). Notare che il punto si usa nelle abbreviazioni, non nei simboli. Quindi la scrittura corretta è: 16 mm, 1,82 g.

Ma il punto dopo g? Questo è il punto che segnala la fine di una frase o di un periodo, non un’abbreviazione. E’ un punto con funzione analoga a quella della virgola che segnala una pausa dopo mm.

Meglio ancora seguire la scrittura di Fabio Gigante nel suo catalogo: ø 16 mm · Peso 1,82 g
