Il sito riporta anche tetradrammi falsi del genere. L'ultima dramma falsa è questa, con i conii moderni usati per coniarla venduti su eBay:

Non so se è già stato segnalato questo esemplare della Nomos Auction 18 che presenta una piccola K sotto la pinna dorsale del delfino a sinistra, che potrebbe essere la sigla dell’incisore.

SICILY. Syracuse. Dionysios I, 405-367 BC. Drachm (Bronze, 29 mm, 32.70 g, 8 h), possibly signed by an unidentified engraver, K.... ΣYPA Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with a laurel wreath. Rev. 8 rayed sea-star between two dolphins swimming upwards; in field to left, below dolphin's dorsal fin, tiny letter K. Calciati 62 var. HGC 2, 1436 var. SNG ANS 455-469 var. (but none known with the Κ on the reverse). An apparently unknown and unpublished variety with the letter in the reverse field. Clear, with a noble head of Athena, and with an attractive brown patina. Good very fine.

This coin is a rather startling novum that was, as usual, acquired because of its general attractiveness rather than for the highly unexpected letter on the reverse, which was, of course, then unnoticed! The question is, what is this Κ doing in the reverse field? The fact that the letter is very small immediately suggests that it is an engraver's signature, rather than that of a magistrate or other mint official, whose initial or symbol would have been much larger. The possibility that other examples with Κ exist, but have never been noticed, is a reasonable one. In any case, this is yet another case when a well-known series produces an unexpected surprise!.

Secondo me hai fatto un lavoro straordinario come guida per tutti. Grazie al tuo impegno collettivo ieri ho conosciuto aspetti di questa monetazione e soprattutto propensione ad una estesa falsificazione che non conoscevo trattando altri tipi di emissioni. Bisogna allenare l'occhio, ma credo che l'esame della breve legenda sia centrale tenuto conto che le prime due lettere sono sfalsate alle altre 2 successive. La moneta che ho acquistato in un negozio proveniva da un'asta tedesca e stesso il commerciante prima di venderle aveva fatto opportune analisi chiedendo anche pareri togliendola dalla bustina sigillata.

Grazie di cuore per il prezioso contributo frutto di una onesta e genuina passione per la numismatica classica.

In acsearch vi sono più di trecento esemplari di questa dramma passati per le aste e sarebbe interessante separare i “buoni” dai “cattivi” per calcolare il rapporto di quelli comparsi sul mercato numismatico negli ultimi anni.

Volevo segnalare l’unico caso a mia conoscenza di un lotto di due esemplari battuto all’Agora Auction SALE #37 con la clausola di restituzione non accettata.

Perché nei lotto ci ficcano dentro di tutto... non è il primo caso dove nei lotti ci mettono i falsi . 

Questo é un altro aspetto che mi da parecchio fastidio... basterebbe inserire nella descrizione  del lotto che oltre a monete autentiche c’è ne sono alcune di dubbia autenticità.

ma vedo che le vendono comunque...quindi a loro cosa interessa???
