Salve a tutti,
Unfortunately I have to write in English as I haven't learn Italian yet. Sorry about that!
I would like to have your opinions about two staters of Sybaris that I have recently seen on internet.
When I compare these two staters, I see that they wear the same signs of (obverse) die break (see red circles). However, after a close look at them, I notice that the horn of the bull is not shaped the same way on both coins (see yellow circle).
As I am a novice, I am not sure how I should interpret this... Has the obverse die been reengraved in order to extend its life?
Is there another explanation?
On the reverse of the first stater, I am also wondering why the dot line around the bull is not continuous (see green circles). Was the reverse die also broken?
